Review and Final Discussion

We have looked at several interesting cases of impact investing this week. Let’s review.

In Week 1 we discussed social innovation, a powerful new approach to solving social problems. In Week 2 we discussed how to measure and manage impact, including impact generated by social innovation.
In Week 3 we discussed CSR, CSV, and collective impact. These concepts are very helpful when you collaborate with the private sector. Mobilize the private sector’s expertise as well as its human/financial resources, and address social problems together.

This week we discussed impact investing. Even if you have a wonderful idea for solving a social problem, you can’t do much without sufficient resources. Therefore it is vital to mobilize financial resources, and a big part of doing that successfully is understanding impact investors’ perspectives and motivations.

I hope you enjoyed this week. Next week we will discuss the Social Business Model Canvas, a framework that can help you figure out how your business will make an impact. Have a wonderful day and see you soon!
