Case 2 introduction

This animation highlights how different perspectives can lead to an increase in the over-diagnosis of infections and the overuse of antibiotics.

Surgeons, who are often compromised for time, often feel as though they have to use antibiotics defensively, to prevent an infection from occurring rather than treating one that has already presented.

The animation informs us that it is important to not only think about the life in front of you, but also future patients. We need to understand the problem from different perspectives so that highly personalised strategies can be developed to implement new ideas.
