Skip to 0 minutes and 1 second [Angela] Welcome to week two of using feedback to improve. I hope you enjoyed week one. I’ll have hard time to reflect, how you might implement some of the ideas in your own volunteering. Now you’ve been introduced to range of tools and techniques for gathering feedback from young people and educators. We can begin to look at how feedback fits into the bigger picture of your own future development, and how to contribute to the evaluation of volunteering activities. This will include identifying sources to help you with your development, and collaborating with others to aid your development. We will also be examining the role of feedback in other environments, particularly the work environment.

Using feedback to improve

In Week 1 we concentrated on gathering feedback and the links between feedback and planning. Now it’s time to think about how we put improvements into practice, wider development goals which you may have and how volunteering may link with organisational goals.

Let’s start this week by thinking about what you currently do with the feedback you receive on your STEM Ambassador or volunteering activities.


Think about a time when you received some feedback on your volunteering. How did it make you feel? Did you take any action as a result?

Over the next few steps we’ll look at self-reflection and how this contributes towards improving activities.
