Continuing your volunteering
Over the past two weeks, we’ve examined the wide range of things you’ll need to do when gathering feedback and using this feedback to help you plan your development and evaluate volunteering activities and programmes.
Self-audit of your progress
We invite you to complete the self-audit task to reflect on what you have learned during this course. In particular, we hope that you will consider if your approach to volunteering in STEM has changed. Download your responses and keep hold of these along with your responses to previous course self-audit tasks as a record of your personal development on the program.

Our ultimate aim is to help you inspire young people to continue to enjoy studying STEM subjects, have positive STEM experiences and to consider STEM careers. You’ve explored why gathering feedback from others and using feedback, where relevant, to develop yourself, is so important to making your STEM Ambassador or volunteering activities effective. Using this mix of feedback channels with your own reflections, helps you focus on the young people you are working with, going beyond using only self-reflection to look at the bigger picture and impact you are having.
Gathering feedback and using this feedback helps to develop your own skills and knowledge and has the potential to improve the quality of STEM volunteering activities, the experiences you share and the aspirations of young people.
Completing the program
If you’ve taken part in all four courses, we’re really pleased that you’ve completed the Inspiring Young People in STEM program. You can, of course, take these courses as many times as you like, to learn from other volunteers and help you to continue your development as a volunteer.
