Skip to 0 minutes and 1 second To do the paper aeroplane activity, we need paper, tape measure, clipboard, pen and data sheet. Make your first model. We’ve given you a link to a useful website to help you with this. Mark your starting line. We’ve used tape, but you can use whatever you have to hand. Stand at the starting line and launch your plane. Measure the distance. Record the results and then test again for a total of three times. Repeat for the other plane designs.

Planning task: Paper aeroplane design and test flight

Over the next three steps we’ll walk through how to complete a plan. We’ll use a simple paper aeroplane activity to demonstrate this process.

In this video, you can see that the practical activity involves making paper aeroplanes, testing how well they fly and recording data.

Consider this scenario. You’ve been asked to develop and deliver the paper aeroplane activity for a group of upper primary school children aged 10-11 years old.

  2. Complete the template with as much as you can with the available information. Think about the audience, format, activity summary and logistics.
