A future where we will seamlessly be able to connect with families, friends and schedules on bathroom mirrors, kitchen work surfaces and our appliances. Where consumer and industrial needs merge.

Since its launch in 2011, there have been over 25 million views of the Corning ‘A Day Made of Glass’ video (below) on You Tube.

What this video seeks to do is paint a vision of the future through the lens of the different types of glass that could enable this to become a reality. Bathroom mirrors, work surfaces, appliances become surfaces that enable us to connect with our family, friends, schedules and provide infotainment in new and exciting ways. The concepts are extended to the public transportation network. The technology is also used to cross the divide between consumer choice for fashion and the way in which the range is designed and developed.

Such a future is not only made from glass. ‘Inspired by Glass’ (below) is a follow-on video that shows how some of the concepts have been turned into reality. It demonstrates that it requires a collaborative approach from across the value chain to turn such a vision into reality.
