Sketching a hospital system

Following an exercise to draw a system map and an influence diagram for a hospital, this step gives our diagrams.

The previous step set the exercise of drawing a system map and influence diagram for a hospital system. Our diagrams are given below:

systems map of the hospital In this system map the components inside the system boundary are those that the hospital manager can control, while the components outside the system are elements of the environment that impact on the system but are not controlled by the hospital manager.

The influence diagram below shows how each component passes on people on to the next stage in their treatment and discharge.

How did you do? What do you think?

Were your diagrams similar to ours? Do you think our diagrams are just our subjective view of things, and no better or worse than yours? Share your experience and views in the comments below.
