Public Health England have developed the TARGET toolkit which is available via the RCGP website. Here you will find the UTI resource suite which groups all of the TARGET resources focusing on Urinary Tract Infections.
The UTI patient information leaflet (downloadable attachment below) has been designed to be used with women who are experiencing urinary symptoms suggesting non-complicated UTI’s. There is also a patient information leaflet for older patients (downloadable attachment below) and those who care for them.
In terms of practice audit there are templates available for accurate and easy auditing, including read codes, current guidance and action plans. Your practice can use the template to assess your management of UTI’s against current local and/or national guidelines.
Another useful website is the Fingertips website which will show prescribing data per clinician practice.
