Lesson planning task: contexts

With the best will in the world, we all have topics which we find less inspiring or harder to make interesting and relevant for students. Over the weeks in this course, you will develop a lesson plan which brings plants into your curriculum.

This week, you will select a topic and find an interesting context to bring it to life.
Next week, you’ll consider how to assess and address any misconceptions in that topic. Finally in Week 3, you’ll think about how you can support students in making links between your chosen topic and other areas of the biology curriculum.

Classroom task

Select an area of the biology curriculum that you find less inspiring to teach and find a teaching resource on the SAPS website which could provide learning hook to engage your students with that topic.

Share a link to the resource below, and any interesting contexts you have found.
