Reflect on your learning

Earlier in the course we introduced the reflection grid as a way to support your professional development through this course (download the reflection grid template if you haven’t done so yet). Take a look at your reflection grid for this week.


This week, Karen and Beverley have helped you explore teaching strategies for teaching about osmosis. You’ve seen examples of practicals to help students get hands-on with the topic. You’ve considered how you could use animations in lessons to support student understanding, and how modeling can engage learners. You’ve also shared sources of inspiration for contextualising the biology curriculum.

Fill in this week’s reflection grid now if you haven’t already done so. If you have any outstanding questions from this week, post them to step 3.13 and we will address them in the end of course Q&A.

You may have captured some ideas about misconceptions students have about osmosis. Next week we’ll look at how you can support students address these misconceptions.
