Welcome!

What you can do to make your English lessons great? Claire and Suzanne describe our course on continuing professional development (CPD).

In this video Claire Ross and Suzanne Mordue welcome you to the course and tell you what’s in store in the weeks ahead.

Over the next four weeks, we’ll look at what you can do to make your lessons great, to enable you to develop the skills and practices you need for your continuing professional development (CPD). Each week focuses on a different topic: understanding your learners, planning lessons and courses, managing the lesson and managing resources.

You will also have the chance to ask the educators questions, starting with a Facebook Live broadcast this week. You’ll find details of other events later on in the course.

We’ve included a glossary of terms commonly used to talk about English language teaching. If you see a word in pink, click on it to find the definition in the glossary.

If this is the first course you’ve taken on FutureLearn, visit the How it Works page which explains all about the website’s features.
