In this article Into Film and BFI outline further training and opportunities available for teachers interested in literacy and film

If you would like to continue learning, Into Film can offer additional supportive face-to-face literacy, filmmaking and animation training for any educator working in the UK with young people aged 5-19.

We can offer free training in your school for groups of 15 or more educators. (Apologies for those of you working outside the UK, we’re only funded for UK delivery but we hope you have enjoyed benefiting from our online course.)

The Into Film Offer:

Visit intofilm.org for further information on our programme, and for details on how you can set up a free Into Film club in your UK based organisation. The website also offers access to a vast range of free cross-curricular teaching resources and details about the Into Film Festival. Access to exclusive Behind the Scenes content can be found on the Get Into Film YouTube channel

Further BFI training: If you would like to gain an MA qualification, BFI is a partner in an MA Media, Culture and Communication masters programme for teachers and other educators interested in film and wider media in the classroom. The BFI has also been a partner in the international film education programme Le Cinema: cent ans de jeunesse since 2009.

For helpful insights into how educators can work with material held by the BFI National Archive, go to screenonline.org.uk.

We hope you will continue to embed film watching, analysis and making into your lessons, and create opportunities for raising attainment through film in all aspects of learning for children and young people.
