Sequencing

Sequence a story using the image resource from the film Nightshift.

Without watching any of the film, download and print the Nightshift film sequencing template and Shot List template from the Downloads area below.

  • Cut out the seven individual stills and arrange them into an order you feel is logical to sequence the story.

  • Number the stills 1-7, following the order of your narrative.

  • Complete the Shot List template. In the second column, make a note of the camera shot used for each still. Don’t worry about column three at this stage.

When you have completed this activity, share your ideas about the narrative of Nightshift in the comments below. (Please don’t watch the film yet, or reveal the ending if you have seen it before, as we’ll be using this film for predictive writing in the Step 3.13.
