Our final abstraction is possibly the most basic and general.
The component view simply gives us a way to work with designs and devices in chunks. Your smart toaster is a mix of springs, metal plates, heating elements, switches, dials, integrated circuits, plastic, and so on. It would be very difficult to reason about the toaster like this, so we might break it down into larger chunks: the bread heating bit, the timing bit, the power bit, and so on.
The exact components depend on the device, but could be a mixture of:
