During the 1st and 2nd weeks, we will talking about the first law thermodynamics The first law of thermodynamics is the energy principle. It is simply called the conservation of energy. Energy is conserved that is, the energy is neither created nor destroyed. So for the closed system, the difference between energy input and energy output must be the energy change inside the system. But we need to keep in mind that, although the total energy is conserved, energy takes various different forms, but the form of energy can be converted. Let’s analyze the energy that can be stored in the system.

Kinetic energy refers to the energy related to its overall motion either translational or rotational. The potential energy is a sum of gravitational, centrifugal, electric and magnetic potential energies. Internal energy depends on the inherent properties of materials in the system such as composition and the phase, physical form. In many cases, KE and PE are not very significant and we ignore their contribution to the total energy of the system and only consider internal energy.
