Welcome to the course
Welcome to ‘Caring for Vulnerable Children’ - a six-week online course being run by the School of Social Work and Social Policy at the University of Strathclyde, in partnership with the Centre for Excellence for Children’s Care and Protection (CELCIS).
Graham McPheat, Senior Teaching Fellow in Social Work at Strathclyde, will be leading us through the six weeks. Sarah Hume-Anthony is the host for this course and will be helping at the Live Stream Events, keeping an eye on discussions, collating poll results, among other things.
Through the course we use the story of a vulnerable child called Billy. So unlike some other FutureLearn courses, we open the course a week at a time to enable us to reflect on the direction our thinking is going in. We also don’t want to spoil our examination of the issues outlined in Billy’s story by giving too much away too soon. We’re very happy to welcome all of you and hope that exciting discussions are generated.
