What is the state of child health?

Most people are aware that child mortality in many parts of the world is much higher than it should be. But how big is the problem? Which parts of the world and which groups suffer most of the burden? What are the causes of these preventable deaths?

These questions are important as the answers help us to focus our efforts on solutions that will have the greatest impact on reducing child mortality. In this step Dr Andy Young will provide answers and also take us beyond the limited goal of survival, to the ambitious aim of ensuring children can also thrive and reach their full potential as we transition through the Sustainable Development Goals era.
