Vaccination is an issue that affects every child around the world and has resulted in massive reductions in child mortality from vaccine preventable diseases like measles.

However, vaccine coverage is still low in some regions that continue to have poor access to vaccination, and progress has slowed or even reversed in regions with good access but low levels of trust. In this step, Professor Heidi Larson, Director of the Vaccine Confidence Project at LSHTM, will explain what is vaccine confidence, the causes of vaccine hesitancy, and how this information can be used to improve vaccine confidence and uptake.
