What is good mental health?
As you have just seen, young people have different views on what good mental health is. Mental health is not easy to describe because it consists of different aspects. Here are a few of the most important ones:
Mental health is about dealing with feelings and thoughts
Someone with a good mental health:
- feels good about him or herself
- can think positively
- can enjoy things
- can do his or her (school) work
- can deal with common setbacks, such as a flat tire or a bad test score
- feels comfortable interacting with other people
