Different types of ADHD

In the previous steps you learned that there are two groups of ADHD complaints: attention problems and hyperactivity & impusivity. You do not have to suffer from both types at the same time, but it is possible.

There are people who are diagnosed with ADHD that only suffer from attention problems. This is called the ADHD inattention type.

There are also children and youngsters that only suffer from hyperactivity and impulsivity. This is called, you may have guessed it already, the ADHD hyperactive-impulsive type.

Finally, there are children and young people that have both attention problems, as well as hyperactivity and impulsivity problems. This group is called the combined type.
