Welcome to the steps about anxiety!

Fear! Feeling frightened! We all experience it every now and then, and that is a good thing. Anxiety is a very useful feeling as it protects us from danger. Fear of something is a signal that you need to pay attention.

There is nothing wrong with being afraid when you are standing on the edge of a cliff. If occasionally we would not feel anxious, we would take too many risks and continuously run into trouble.

But sometimes the fear takes over causing people to be afraid when it does not serve a purpose. Then, fear becomes a problem, a disorder.

Many young people suffer from it. About 1 in 5 has an anxiety disorder, girls slightly more than boys.
