Meet the Marketing and Communications Team

Friday at FutureLearn: Claire Davenport introduces FutureLearn’s global marketing and communications team.

Please let me introduce to you our FutureLearn marketing and communications team, out in Camden in London celebrating the fact that it is Friday and we are one week closer to launch! We are a small but passionate team and, between us, we have experience of a whole range of different countries, cultures and education systems – hopefully just right for the global launch of FutureLearn…

Firstly, we have Rita, our digital marketing and social media guru; we call her Rita the Tweeter (despite her protests). Rita is Portuguese and studied and worked in Portugal before coming to the UK to do an MBA and then joining FutureLearn. Next, we have Harriet, our PR manager, who went to high school in Ghana but came to the UK to study and work. Smitha, our digital marketing strategist, grew up in India but lived and studied in the US before coming to work in London. Lily is from the UK and is our marketing intern, having recently graduated with a degree in Journalism. Our newest recruit, Minji, is Chinese and has degrees in finance, business and economics from China, Norway and the UK. I’m Claire, I am British but have lived and worked in various different countries and have studied in the UK, the US and France.

As a team, we are passionate about widening access to high quality education globally and we are looking forward to introducing the FutureLearn site and our partners’ courses to learners around the world over the coming weeks and months. Exciting times…
