Identifying the SDGs for your organisation or community to focus on

Now that you have completed the course, it is a good time to revisit your personal materiality assessment to see if your priorities have changed. Perhaps they have changed only subtly, or perhaps radically.

You will recall that organisations use materiality assessments to inform their social impact strategy and reporting.

KPMG defines a materiality assessment as:

The process of identifying, refining, and assessing numerous potential environmental, social and governance issues that could affect your business, and/or your stakeholders, and condensing them into a short-list of topics that inform company strategy, targets, and reporting.

We ask you not only to consider which environmental, social and governance issues affect you, your organisation and your organisation’s stakeholders, but also which you are best placed to impact.

Armed with new knowledge of how digital technologies can be deployed to boost the social impact of organisations, which SDGs are most pertinent to you and your organisation? At the beginning of the course, you may not have had a sense of how to adapt digital technologies to accelerate and broaden the reach of social impact. Now that you do, does this change your priorities in terms of the SDGs you feel galvanized to advance? Has your sense of your capacity to influence and bring about change changed?
