This week you have:

  • Been introduced to the teaching team and Douglas, the playwright leading you through this course.
  • Become familiar with some basic definitions and characteristics of plays and playwriting.
  • Thought about the collaborative nature of putting on a play.
  • Begun to explore a play’s relationship to its audience.
  • You’ve also been introduced to some of the key elements of the craft of playwriting: setting, character and craft and done some exercises on these topics.
