Assignment Overview: Mixtape and Manifesto

This is an overview of the two main assignments in this course.

In this course you will be asked to engage creatively with your thoughts and ideas. In addition to activities and reflections throughout, you will be asked to create a mixtape (a collection of songs, images, and/or words) that tells the arc of a protest story, and end with the development of a personally driven manifesto. We will reference this manifesto throughout the course and it will rely on both your own experiences and the information you gather through this course.

To complete these assignments, you will engage with 2 tools:

  1. The Gallery tool is a public space where you will post your Mixtape and the final version of your personal manifesto. You will be able to see and comment on the work of other learners, as well as receive comments on your own work.

  2. The Workbook tool is a private space where you will journal, reflect on course content, and create a draft of your personal manifesto. You’ll then post your manifesto publicly using the Gallery tool. At the end of the course, you will have the opportunity to export a PDF version of the content in your workbook for your own records.

*Specific details on how to use these tools will be provided.
