If, like Daniel Defoe’s Robinson Crusoe, you were to find yourself cast away on a desert island, what single book, article or maybe podcast would you take with you to develop your knowledge and understanding of pedagogy, technology and/or learning design and why? Post your suggestions to ‘comments below’ and remember to ‘like’ any suggestions you find particularly noteworthy.
In my own case, it would have to be Garrison, D.R. & Vaughan, N.D. (2008) Blended Learning in Higher Education: Frameworks, Principles and Guidelines, Jossey-Bass, San Francisco. This book completely transformed the way I think about and approach teaching and continues to be my ‘go to’ text when reflecting on the pedagogical, social and cognitive dimensions of blended and hybrid learning.
