Finding Work Happiness Activity

In this activity your child will learn to empathise with others in their career and understand what brings career happiness to different people.

This activity can be completed with your child if you want to go a little deeper into looking at work happiness. You can complete the attached worksheet for as many people as you like for those that enjoy and don’t enjoy their jobs. This is about your child looking for different work motivations for people they know, hopefully, they will also find some similarities in their own work motivations.

Some prompts:

  • Can you think of anyone you know who is happy in their work? Why do you feel this?
  • If someone isn’t happy how do you know?
  • What type of work do you think would make you happy?
  • What famous people do you know who you think are happy in their jobs?
  • What makes you happy when you do your hobbies, at school or hanging out with your friends?

From now on, we will use worksheets for your child to complete. All the worksheets will be attached as downloads, including:

  1. The worksheet template to complete.
  2. An activity guide with some basic concepts and tips to complete the worksheets.
  3. An example worksheet already completed for you to have as a reference.

When your child has completed this task, you can continue to talk about people you know (or see in other places such as TV) and discuss if they enjoy their work and think deeper about their motivations.

When ready mark this session as complete and move on to the next Activity.
