How to express the season and what you like about it
If you would like to know which season your friend likes, you can ask你喜欢哪个季节? (Nǐxǐhuan nǎge jìjié?) Which season do you like?“季节(jìjié)” means “season”. “个(gè)” is the most common measure word in Chinese. The answer of this question is pretty simple. You just need to put the season you like after “我喜欢(wǒ xǐhuan)”.
- 春天(chūntiān) spring
- 夏天(xiàtiān) summer
- 秋天(qiūtiān) fall, autumn
- 冬天(dōngtiān) winter
For instance, “我喜欢春天。(Wǒ xǐhuan chūntiān.)”If you are curious about why your friend likes spring, you can ask
你为什么喜欢春天? (Nǐ wèishénme xǐhuan chūntiān?)
Why do you like spring?“为什么(wèishénme)” means “why”. When we answer this question, we start the sentence with “因为(yīnwèi)……”因为天气不冷也不热。(Yīnwèi tiānqì bù lěng yě bú rè.)
Because the weather is neither cold nor hot. Here is a challenging question for you.Do you know how to say how many seasons there are in a year in Chinese?
