What changes are needed in transport and travel?

Explore key measures for reducing traffic emissions and discuss which of these you would like to see in your local environment.
Transportation is vital for our societies to function and thrive.

This includes the way we commute and travel in and between our cities or towns, as well as between different countries. It also includes how we transport products around the world by road, rail, sea or air.

Earlier this week, we saw that transport is responsible for a significant share of global emissions. Almost 75% of transport emissions are from road transport alone (think cars, trucks, and buses). Flights account for another 12% of transport emissions (Lamb et al., 2021, Lee et al., 2021). And air travel is still rapidly increasing, while being used primarily by a wealthy minority.
