Introduction to Week 3

A brief introduction to the contents of Week 3: Managing Data on the Power platform

This week’s activities will focus primarily on the management of the data within Dynamics 365.

The integrity and accuracy of the data in our Common Data Service (CDS) are of utmost importance.

Our first practical activity will be to create rules to accurately detect unnecessary duplicate values. This is an effort to minimise or negate double-work.

After that, we will learn about importing data into Dynamics 365’s CDS, especially useful when migrating to a new instantiation or after acquiring a variety of leads or a new team.

Following that, we will explore exporting data, as well as accessing data in the CDS for with external or third-party applications through the use of SQL commands.

In the next activity, we will explore how to bulk delete data, and how they function may be a preferable alternative to the Advanced Search feature.

In our penultimate activity, we will have a brief summary and quiz on the week’s content, before moving onto the final assessment.

We end the week, and the course, with a final assessment. This assessment will be graded, and determine how much you have learned and engaged with throughout this course.
