Lead Educator: Dr Daniel Onah

Biography

Dr Daniel Onah is currently a Senior Teaching Associate with the Institute of Coding, School of Computing and Communications at Lancaster University. He is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (Advance HE). His research focuses on educational technology, natural language processing, machine learning and the design of interactive software systems. He is very experienced in a range of programming languages such as C, Java, C#, C++, Python, SQL and Web Technologies. He is an author of several book chapters and currently writing a book due for publication in the nearest future. Dr Onah is an expert in Educational Technology and very much familiar with several video and audio editing software.

Dr Abe Karnik

Biography

Dr. Abe Karnik is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Human Computer Interaction at the Lancaster University. By day, he is involved in creation of novel interactive systems including 3D displays, AR/VR environments and haptics. By night, he is a tinkerer and engineer at heart who loves to explore technology. His first introduction to computing was Logo (programming language) and has since gained proficiency over 20 programming languages ranging from 8086 assembly to Java. These days, he enjoys implementing projects in Javascript and Node.js. As a self-taught, language-agnostic programmer, he believes anyone can write code as long as they can think.

Rob Sims

Biography

Rob has 15 years professional IT experience with Hewlett Packard as a COBOL programmer and information analyst. Rob is also a qualified teacher in the post compulsory sector and holds a PGCE (Professional Graduate Certificate of Education) awarded by Lancaster University. Rob’s undergraduate degree is in Interactive Media Development (Web design and Development) and he is currently studying for a Ph.D at Lancaster university. The topic for Rob’s Ph.D is “Immersive Technology: Integrated Delivery of Education”
