Asian Transport Outlook (ATO) case study

Asian Transport Outlook (ATO) case study:

In this last expert interview, Conrad speaks with Alvin Mejia and Adwait Limaye from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Manila about the Asian Transport Outlook (ATO)—a comprehensive open-data resource covering transport data and policies across 51 economies in the Asia-Pacific.

The ATO consolidates 486 national-level and 101 urban-level indicators for 460+ cities, along with transport cost data for 1,200 projects. It supports planners, researchers, and policymakers by facilitating access to data on infrastructure, transport activities, externalities, and institutional frameworks.

This initiative strengthens regional knowledge, tracks global commitments like the SDGs, and streamlines project development. Alvin and Adwait demonstrate its application in areas such as BRT planning, policy review, and sustainable urban mobility studies, showcasing its value as a critical tool for data-driven decision-making.

Join the conversation and explore how the ATO can support your work in advancing sustainable transport solutions.
