The impact of climate change on different sectors is inevitable and undeniable, and several sectors are affected by it over time. In the following text, some examples of climate change impact on various sectors are presented:

Agriculture

Agriculture is an important sector that is affected the most by climate change challenges. Extreme rainfall events and droughts may harm crops and reduce yields. Drought also decreases the amount of quality food available to feed livestock. Warmer temperature influences the abundance, mortality rates, and migratory patterns of wild fish stock, directly affecting fishermen.

Energy sector

The energy sector is another sector that has been affected by climate change. Global warming will increase the electricity demand in most regions, particularly during the summer. It is not obvious that higher air and water temperature decreases energy efficiency, and the energy sectors must generate more power and electricity, to meet this demand, while their production capacity might be limited.

Transportation

Transportation is another sector which is affected by climate change. A simple example is that hotter weather may cause the rail tracks to expand and buckle. The same applies to the pavement, which might become softened and expanded. This results in huge costs for operation and maintenance of the railway and other transportation infrastructure.

Tourism

Tourism is also affected by climate change. In the winter, lots of money could be lost due to less snow and ice. Fishing is another activity that might influence tourism, due to increased water temperature and less possibilities for fishing.
