You can for example work as Climate Data Scientist to support the development, evaluation, and improvement of mesoscale weather prediction models in organizations.

As a researcher, research associate or assistant researcher, you can conduct integrated modelling efforts to investigate climate change, land use, and water resources at large scales. This includes, but is not limited to, fully funded PhD or post-doctoral positions in the universities worldwide.

As a weather and climate Data Scientist, you will apply machine learning techniques to forecast and analyze the weather patterns, predict extreme weathers, and help decision makers with more appropriate solutions to manage these kinds of events.

A lot of today’s companies are focused on decarbonization. As a Data Scientist, you may work with supporting climate-relevant product developments. For example, automating the calculation processes for companies’ decarbonization assessment.

Leveraging a balance between your theoretical understanding about climate change issues, as well as your practical skills in relation to data science skills on the other hand, will be key for your success in the future.
