Optional project: Creating visualisations

Optional project - Creating visualisations

Now that you’ve seen how to create several chart types in Tableau, and worked through some examples, it’s time to put your skills into practice and create some visualisations with the ATL flight data.

  1. You’ll create three visualisations and prepare a short explanation that describes the charts you chose and why you chose them. You’ll continue to work on these visualisations in the next activity, and they’ll form part of your final dashboard.

  2. Recreate the two visualisations you developed in Excel earlier in the course. These were:

    a. the average delay per month, for all airlines, or per-airline

    b. destination airports with the highest percentage of weather delays.

When you recreate the visualisations, think about the feedback on Padlet earlier in the course. You may choose a different chart type, or format the charts in a different way.

  3. Identify one other visualisation you think could be useful to the customer service or customer success team at the travel company.

When you create this, think about the type of relationship you are visualising and select the most appropriate chart type.

When you’ve created your charts, save your workbook and submit a brief summary of your chosen chart types in the box below.
