To put these into perspective, based on the calculation above, one person passed away every five minutes around the world from diabetes in 2021.

Based on the worlds population of 7,874,965,825 in 2019 every single person in the world would have to contribute USD $96.50 to cover the cost of diabetes. Imagine what we could all do with that money.

According to the latest Global Report on Diabetes:

  • Diabetes is a serious threat to population health
  • The number of people in the world with diabetes have quadrupled since 1980
  • The longer a person lives with undiagnosed and untreated diabetes, the worse their health outcomes are likely to be
