During this first week, you have been introduced to the structure of the course and the resources available to help you get the most out of the course and develop your knowledge of D&I.

We’ve described the core terminology and given the context for why D&I matters on a global scale and for each of us personally and professionally.

You have referenced key reports in the industry and heard from one of our members on their experience of what diversity means in practice.

We began looking at why D&I needs to be taken seriously in the Built Environment in readiness for the remainder of the course, focussing on the benefits it can bring and dispelling common misconceptions.

Next week we will be focussing on the current challenges facing the built environment sector and the impacts on its productivity, sustainability and reputation.
