Yn 2016, bu Public Health England (PHE) yn ymchwilio i achosion cenedlaethol o rywogaeth anarferol o E. coli O157 a ganfuwyd gan dechnoleg dilyniannu genom cyfan PHE. Canfuwyd 161 o achosion o’r straen hwn o E. coli (154 yn Lloegr, 6 yng Nghymru ac 1 yn Yr Alban). Penderfynodd yr epidemiolegwyr mai bagiau o ddail salad cymysg oedd achos tebygol y salwch y tro hwn.
