Health Service System Structure

Health Service System Structure

Taiwan’s health system, regarded as one of the best globally, is designed to improve health through equitable and efficient service delivery. Governed by the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW), it focuses on five key building blocks identified by the WHO framework: service delivery, health workforce, health information systems, financing, and leadership/governance.

The health service system is structured into three main areas: promotion and preventive care, medical care (including chronic and emergency services), and rehabilitation and support services.
