National Health Insurance System

National Health Insurance System

Professor will continue to introduce the National halth system in Taiwan.

The situation may vary from country to country, take the United Kingdom as an example. The United Kingdom’s health system is funded primarily by taxation and National Insurance contributions, andthe NHS provides universal healthcare coverage to all UK residents. Under this system, healthcare is free at the point of use, meaning individuals receive medical services without direct payment. The government acts as the single-payer insurer, pooling funds from taxes and National Insurance to cover a comprehensive range of services, including primary care, hospital treatments, and emergency care. While private insurance exists, it plays a supplementary role, as the NHS covers the majority of healthcare needs. This system reflects the UK’s commitment to equitable access to healthcare for all.

Do you know your country’s health system structure? Does it have similarity with cases in Taiwan or UK?
