So we have reached the halfway point of the course, this is module four smack dab in the middle and why we’re focussing on this, is we’re focussing on the heart, we’re focussing on Emotional Intelligence for this module. Topics we’re going to talk about include emotional intelligence, but also mental and emotional health, and the development of empathy, both for ourselves and for others. Last but not least, we’re going to talk about SDG 3, which is all about good health and well-being. Seems like the perfect SDG for this particular module on Emotional Intelligence. So come on down and we’ll jump right in.

This week, we will review what emotional intelligence is and why we should develop it. If an individual must possess certain technical skills to do a job, and everyone must have the same technical skills in order to do it, the true differentiators in the workplace become the softer skills. The understanding and practice of emotional intelligence is the key to all of the rest.

Emotional intelligence requires a focus on mental and emotional health. We also have a video on meditation and some interesting commentary on how we can use art and music for inspiration on the global stage.
