Energy transitions in Human societies

Stepping by a wood pile close to a hut, Juan reflects on how human societies have used energy along history, and the signature this has left on Nature. Forests changed after the continued extraction of firewood, and now they may return to a more mature state following the substitution of wood by gas or electricity. Electricity is becoming the main source of energy in modern times, and this will also leave a signature on Earth.
