Meet the educator – Yann Laot

Hi!

I’m Yann Laot, Director of Services, Support and Solutions for Energy Storage Solutions at SAFT, the world leader in high technology batteries and member of the group Total, the French Oil & Gas major.

Previously, I worked in strategy on the battery industry and especially on energy storage, first as a Strategy Manager for 6 years at Total New Energies, the Renewable arm of Total, and then as a Strategic Marketing Manager for 1 year at SAFT.

I focused on lithium-ion topics ranging from markets, products, technologies and manufacturing to competitive landscape analysis. Among other things, I contributed with Total Energy Ventures (the venture capital arm of Total) to 6 corporate venture investments deals in energy storage (EnerVault, LightSail Energy, Sunfire, Sunverge, Stem, Aquion).

I formerly worked for Air Liquide (R&D) and for the Boston Consulting Group. I hold a M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Chemistry at the Ecole Polytechnique (France).
