In the previous step, we discovered KPIs. This lesson will look at some common examples so that we can create some context around how KPIs are used in a business setting.

There are various things that we would want to calculate that are industry-specific. For example:

Business:

  • Revenue (Price (times) Quantity)
  • Cost
  • Customer satisfaction
  • Time to market

IT:

  • Incident Resolution Time

Entertainment:

  • Cost per production hour

There are many KPIs that we could explore. We’re going get a chance to explore some of those in the labs, but in your business context, it’s worth researching what KPIs make the most sense for whatever you’re going to be working on.
