This can be a very time consuming process, so it is worth investing time at the start to make sure you are going about it the right way, with the right tool, and that the resulting annotation data is in a suitable format to be used in the machine learning process.
There are literally hundreds of annotation tools to help with the annotation process, and they are advancing and changing all the time. Some already use AI approaches to make annotation easier. Rather than provide an immediately out-of-date list, we recommend you do your own research into tools which are available. Finding the right tool can make the annotation job much easier and faster.
