A short summary articel of week 5 of Experimental design for machine learning - practical tips and tricks.
Congratulations on completing the Week 5 of the course, the final week.

Before we wrap up the course, here’s a quick recap of the main topics we covered in the final week, on tips and tricks:

  • hardware and software
    • NVIDIA graphics cards and CUDA
    • Google Colab
    • Windows or Linux (or both!)
  • writing and reading machine learning papers – what should be included?
  • use of preprint servers – e.g. Arxiv
  • engaging with computer science – gaining and sharing expertise between disciplines.

In the final video, we will wrap up the course overall, and provide a link to a short practical activity which demonstrates an example deep learning model, an image classifier that identifies plant species.
