Ezamshah joined INCEIF in 2009 as a Teaching Fellow at INCEIF and became the Dean of the School of Professional Studies in 2014. He has now retired from the Deanship and holds the position of Senior Teaching Fellow. He is currently a Director of PruBSN Takaful Bhd, the Malaysian Insurance Institute and Harlow’s & MGI Sdn Bhd. He is also a member of the Shariah Advisory Committee of RGA Global Re (Takaful, Labuan) and Ayady Takaful (Maldives).

He obtained his Masters in Actuarial Science from North Eastern University, Boston. He is also an associate member of the Society of Actuaries in the US and Fellow and Shariah Registered Financial Planner under Malaysian Financial Planning Council (MFPC). He holds a Certificate in Shariah Law and LLM in Business Law from International University Malaysia (IIUM).

Ezamshah has wide experience in the Islamic Finance and Insurance/Takaful Industry. His competency in management and strategic development has been consistently applied in his more than 35 professional years of engagement at the most senior level prior to joining INCEIF.

Previously, he has served as CEO of Hong Leong Tokio Marine Takaful Bhd. He joined the Hong Leong Group to set up Hong Leong Tokio Marine Takaful Berhad and was the first CEO from July 2006 to May 2008. Prior to that he was CEO of Commerce Life Assurance Bhd. In Commerce Life he was also instrumental in setting up their takaful operation. Earlier, he had served in various consulting and management roles with the Mercer Consulting Group.

Ezamshah has also made several significant contributions to the industry. Whilst being President of the Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM) he was instrumental in the setting up of the first Life Reinsurance Company (MLRe) and was its first Chairman. He was also the first President of the Malaysian Financial Planning Council (MFPC).

In 2017 the Malaysian Takaful Industry conferred Ezamshah the prestigious Malaysian Takaful Scholar Award for his enormous contributions to the industry.
