This article summarizes the essentials of two basic sewing tools.

Basic sewing tools

There are 7 sewing tools in CLO 3D. You can find a briefing about 3 major ones in this article. They are edit sewing, segment sewing and free sewing. You can find them in your 2D toolbar.

Segment sewing

The Segment Sewing

Keynotes:
1. Click once on a pattern outline or an internal line to start a sewing relationship. And click once more on another pattern outline or internal line to complete sewing. It works the same in both 2D and 3D windows.
2. The short vertical marks should be at the same ends of the two segments.

Free sewing

  1. Click once on a pattern outline or internal line to start and hover your cursor along that line then click once more to end. This completes half of the sewing relationship. Finish another half in the same way.
  2. The first direction you move in will be the direction of free sewing.

Two opposite sewing directions

Edit sewing

  1. Click an existing sewing line to select it. You can change its length and move it along pattern outlines or internal lines.
  2. Right-click an existing sewing line to get more edit options. You can reverse sewing, delete sewing, add a point on the pattern to start/end, add seamline topstitch, deactivate sewing and hide sewing.
