Health Priorities: Insights from Constructing Taiwan's Active Aging Index

The method for setting health priorities involves considering five dimensions: propriety, economics, acceptability, resources, and legality, each scored 0 or 1.

An example is constructing Taiwan’s Active Aging Index (AAI) with policy suggestions based on the World Health Organization’s framework. AAI includes four domains: employment, participation in society, healthy living, and capacity for active aging. Taiwan’s AAI was developed through literature review, expert consultation, and pilot studies, enabling international comparison and tailored policy suggestions.
