Video: What's Tourism's Future?
15.3
Well, in our previous section we have covered probably what has been going on in the past in terms of tourism industry, and what has been going on currently. So my next question for you is that how do we look at the future? What does future looks like? So now we are moving to smart tourism and smart cities, smart societies. So I really I was very interest in your comments made in your section that eventually people will be paid to traveling around the world. Tourism industry will become part of their job. What do you mean by that, Nopasit?
52.8
Yes, now for the technology people, now we are talking about the basic universal income for the citizen of the country, especially the technology country. In the past couple of centuries, we are struggling about the production productivity improvement by the technology. But today the technology goes beyond Internet, like artificial intelligence or robot, very cost effective. And in such countries, like Japan or Norway, even China in the future, they have technology that can produce products to the citizens. In the future, the social securities, the social benefit become more and more, and technology should pay more tax. Technology will pay tax, what do you mean? The robot will pay tax just like anyone of us?
125.6
Yes, the owner of the robot need to pay more tax. People use robot rather than human being, because they take away human’s jobs. Yes, and they did also help much more productivity. That’s very interesting observation. Yes, today even the technology leader like Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, all talking about that technology not impress human, but in the future they pay us. That’s very interesting. What is your view on this? Well, it is a very individual idea. I must admit that I haven’t thought about it before. But it’s very valuable, you know. One of the things that your future in any global tourism is what we called great tourism.
178.1
The great tourism when it comes to my head is a system where people usually have the safety net and the safety net is a pension. More and more people are benefit from health care and health schemes. So this is the phenomenon in many countries you find that people live longer and they have more disposable income and of course have time. What we think together means they want the interesting types of tourists, because they can travel at any time. So you don’t have to worry about the school holidays of the children, they will normally go out and ect.
220.8
I think the thing that professor Nopasit makes, is quite interesting one that you simply count out the situation, where mass amount obvious citizens are employed. So one of the big challenges is that policy issue government is if we are finding this placement because of technological roles. There we have to somehow evolve the system or often financial support those people in those situation. And that is where probably you will find in some cases anyway. more and more people will be able to travel, because they have automate leisure, because they are not working. They have some income which allow them to the travel. Thirdly, because of the combination of things like welfare, cheap of pricing and exchange in various things.
275.1
All these things come together to facilitate travel. And there’s one thing that most people like to enjoy right what they live is this your opportunity to travel. So there is interesting I never thought about it before. Let me admit. But I see its potential. But I also see a challenge to a government to develop such scheme, because government does not pay that money. Where is the money coming from? Maybe the idea of you know a robot pays tax.
306.3
So if we were able to charge more tax through this technology advancement meaning it is even you know more facilitating for people to travel. They have more income and probably they have more free time. Well the change of the life was the balance that essentially what it does.
327.2
The leisure time comes early in your life and it will become more. And the usual tradition is I mean the answer would be right you know work is been revolution on like it or not. It’s going to benefit that going to have this benefit. Very good. So we’ll see we’ll get probably some more money from robot, and then we’ll travel more and then will be you know a little more happier. I hope the whole society and the whole you know world will traveling more then. Well the interesting the case be unemployed happy. Yes, once again, thank you very much for your contribution to our very first online course on Global Tourism Development Trends.
369.9
We cover the past, we cover the current we even cover what will happen in future. Thank you. Thank you very much.
